Lifetime Deal
Our take: Worth a look at $49 if you're a solo consultant or freelancer who thinks in days and weeks and wants AI summaries of your own time and tasks. Skip it if you need boards, client portals or a team workspace, or if you want the AI credit allowance spelled out before paying.
Picture a Thursday afternoon when a client asks what you actually did last month. You open your task app and find a board of cards that were moved around, renamed or archived. The record of your real days is gone, and you end up reconstructing it from memory and email.

SelfManager.ai is built around that gap. It’s a task manager for people who plan and look back by date, and it’s sold on AppSumo as a lifetime deal for $49 (listed at $216). We haven’t used it ourselves, so everything below comes from the listing, which is marketing copy. We’ll flag where it leaves things out.
Most task apps start with a project, a list or a folder. SelfManager.ai starts with the date. Each day is its own workspace, and inside it you can create unlimited tables for client work, personal goals or whatever else you’re juggling.
Tables hold tasks with priorities, completion status and time spent. You can also keep notes, comments and reference images alongside them. Important tables can be pinned for quick access, and you can browse earlier dates when you need to revisit something.
The listing says there’s no setup and no templates to configure. That’s appealing if you’ve ever lost a weekend building the perfect Notion workspace and then abandoned it.
The tradeoff is obvious, though. Work that runs for months doesn’t naturally live on one date. The listing doesn’t explain how a long-running project is tracked across days, or whether unfinished tasks roll forward. If your work is a long list of recurring client deliverables, check that before you buy.
AI Plan takes a plain-English goal and turns it into a draft schedule. You choose a window from 1 to 31 days, and the tool creates one table per day with up to 20 tasks in each. You can include past work as context so the suggestions reflect what you’ve really been doing.
The part we like is the review step. Nothing is saved until you’ve looked at it. You can change tasks and priorities, delete anything silly, and skip days you don’t need. AI task generators tend to produce tidy but unrealistic plans, so an edit pass matters.
There’s also a notes-to-tasks feature. You paste in rough notes or a project brief and get a structured task list back. For a freelancer who gets briefs as messy emails, that could save real time. How good the output is, we can’t say. The listing offers no examples or sample results.

The feature that sets this apart from a plain to-do app is AI Review. It reads your recorded tasks, statuses and logged time across a week, month, quarter or custom period. It then summarizes completed work, open tasks and possible blockers. You can include table comments when they add context.
You can also ask follow-up questions. The listing’s examples are “Where did my time go?” and “What should I focus on next?” A similar chat works on a single table, so you can ask about priorities, statuses and logged time without pasting everything into another tool.
This is only as useful as the data you put in. If you don’t log time and don’t mark tasks done, the review has little to read. Think of it as a reward for consistent habits, not a substitute for them.
Voice is included too. You can dictate comments and AI prompts, or have responses read aloud. That’s a nice touch for people who think out loud, but it’s a side feature.
The deal is a single tier at $49. You get lifetime access and all future plan updates. You need to redeem your code within 60 days of purchase, and the deal isn’t stackable, so buying extra codes won’t raise any limits.
The most important gap is credits. The listing says AI features use credits, which covers planning, review, chat, notes-to-tasks and voice. It never says how many credits the lifetime tier includes, whether they reset monthly, or what happens when they run out. For a product whose main selling point is AI, that’s a big omission. Ask the seller or read the AppSumo Q&A before you commit.
The second gap is teams. The listing mentions a Team plan at a flat $30 a month for unlimited collaborators, with no per-seat fees. It doesn’t say whether the lifetime deal covers collaboration. If you hoped to share workspaces with a virtual assistant or a business partner, don’t assume you can.
On the plus side, this isn’t a brand-new launch. According to the listing, development started in 2016, the product went public in 2022 as Self-Manager.net, and it moved to selfmanager.ai in 2026 alongside a v4 redesign. The listing also claims thousands of registered users. That’s a longer track record than most lifetime deal products, though it’s the seller’s own claim and a recent redesign means some rough edges are possible.
Skip it if you run client projects that need boards, dependencies, approvals or client-facing views. The listing names ClickUp, Notion and Trello as alternatives, but it doesn’t describe anything like the depth those tools offer. This is a personal planner with AI added, not a full project management suite.
Skip it too if you need integrations. The listing doesn’t mention any, such as calendar sync, email or other apps. That may just be missing from the page, but it’s worth asking about.

If you’re a solo consultant or freelancer who already thinks in days and weeks, $49 is a low-risk bet. The AI review idea is genuinely useful for invoicing conversations and for seeing where your time goes. Just get the credit allowance in writing first, and check that the tool fits how you actually work before the 60-day redemption window closes.
According to the listing, you get lifetime access and all future plan updates on a single tier. The code isn't stackable and must be redeemed within 60 days of purchase. The listing doesn't state the AI credit allowance or which plan the lifetime tier maps to.
The listing says the Team plan is a flat $30 a month for unlimited collaborators, with no per-seat fees. It doesn't say whether the lifetime deal includes team features, so ask the seller before buying if you need to share workspaces.
Only for a narrow job. It's built around daily workspaces, tasks, notes and time tracking for one person. The listing doesn't mention boards, automations or integrations, so heavier project setups will outgrow it.
