You’ve got a WordPress blog, a few AppSumo tabs open, and two SEO lifetime deals that both promise to get you found in AI search. ClickRank starts at $89. SEOBetter starts at $69. The listings read alike at a glance, but they solve different problems, and buying the wrong one means paying for a job you didn’t need done.

ClickRank and SEOBetter side by side

We haven’t used either tool. Everything here comes from the AppSumo listings, which are marketing copy, so read the claims with that in mind.

One repairs, one writes

ClickRank works on the site you already have. According to the listing, it audits your pages, finds broken links, duplicate content and missing tags, and then fixes them. An AI agent takes plain-English commands, and a Resolve All button is meant to fix every detected technical issue on a page in one go.

SEOBetter works on the words. You type a keyword, it builds a research brief from live search results, writes a cited draft, scores it and publishes it with schema. It has 21 content types, from how-tos to buying guides. It also has a GEO Optimizer that adds statistics, quotes and sources to posts you’ve already published.

So one is a repair tool and the other is a writing and scoring tool. Plenty of small sites need both eventually. Most owners have one bigger problem right now, and that’s the one to pay for.

There’s a small overlap on schema and meta tags. ClickRank says it generates both. SEOBetter adds schema and syncs its title and description into Yoast, Rank Math, AIOSEO or SEOPress, leaving the plugin to handle sitemaps.

Both tools check whether AI crawlers can reach you. ClickRank looks at robots.txt and page response status for ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Gemini crawlers. SEOBetter runs a crawler audit with a one-click robots.txt fix and supports llms.txt. Blocking AI crawlers by accident is common, so either check is handy.

Beyond that, ClickRank promises separate scores for each AI model, tracking of Google AI Overviews citations and an AI Search Volume Analyzer. The listing never explains how any of those are measured. We’d want to see real output before trusting a number.

SEOBetter is more specific. Every post gets a 0 to 100 score with a fix list covering sources, statistics, quotes, structure and freshness. That turns a vague goal into a checklist. The listing leans on a Princeton-led paper that found these factors raised AI visibility by up to about 40%, which is the vendor’s chosen headline, not a result to expect on your site. To its credit, SEOBetter says no tool can guarantee a citation. ClickRank’s listing makes no such admission.

Setup and where each one runs

ClickRank is the flexible one. On WordPress you install a plugin and paste in an activation key. On any other CMS you add a JavaScript snippet to your header. Google Search Console is the only integration listed.

SEOBetter is a WordPress plugin, full stop. The listing says Webflow, Wix and Shopify aren’t supported yet. If you run a Shopify store, this comparison is over: ClickRank is your only option of the two.

SEOBetter does add an MCP connection, so you can run its checks from Claude, Cursor or Grok. Its FAQ on this was cut off in the listing, so we can’t say how well it works. It also adds a Search Console dashboard with per-post clicks and impressions, plus decay alerts for ageing posts.

Prices and tier limits

Both deals have four tiers, let you stack up to four codes, require redemption within 60 days and carry a 60-day refund window. The numbers differ.

  • ClickRank costs $89, $178, $267 or $356. Optimizations, keyword analysis and Search Console tracking are unlimited. Crawls run monthly, from 500 up to 5,000 pages, with 1 to 4 users.
  • SEOBetter costs $69, $138, $207 or $276. Unlimited team seats, 21 content types and 29 languages come on every tier. Cloud articles run 2 to 8 a month, bring-your-own-key (BYOK) articles 12 to 60, and sites 1 to 5.

Both listings have a problem here. The feature rows aren’t labeled by tier, and they look reversed on both: the most expensive tier appears to get the smallest allowances if you read them in order. ClickRank’s website row (8 / 5 / 1 / 2) doesn’t even match its other rows. The likely reading is that the $89 and $69 tiers are the smallest, but neither listing says so. Confirm on the checkout page before you stack codes.

On the low end, that means roughly 500 crawled pages for ClickRank, which won’t cover an older blog or a store with a big catalogue. For SEOBetter it means about 2 cloud articles a month, which is not a content engine. BYOK gives you far more volume, but you pay your own AI provider, and the listing doesn’t estimate what an article costs that way.

SEOBetter does give a useful benchmark: its Pro plan is $39 a month or $349 a year, so one $69 code costs less than two months of Pro. ClickRank’s listing offers no monthly price to compare against, and its crossed-out list prices tell you little.

What we can’t tell you

ClickRank has 488 AppSumo reviews at 4.51 out of 5. That’s a decent sign, though AppSumo’s own summary is marketing copy and it admits minor issues with language support and localization. If your site isn’t in English, check that first.

SEOBetter’s listing shows no review count, no product age and no outside voices. Its FAQs are written by the vendor, who says so. Not a red flag by itself, but it leaves you with less to go on.

The listings also leave open how much control you get. ClickRank’s one-click fixes rewrite your titles and tags, and the listing doesn’t say whether you can review changes first. SEOBetter says it checks every outbound link and removes dead or invented URLs, a promise we can’t confirm.

Which one to buy

Pick ClickRank if your site exists, the basics are messy, and you’d rather have tags and schema fixed than write another post. It’s also the pick if you’re on anything other than WordPress. Run a crawl in the first weeks, check what it changes, and refund it if the output isn’t better than what you’d write yourself.

Who should pick ClickRank or SEOBetter

Pick SEOBetter if you’re on WordPress, you already have a free SEO plugin handling meta tags, and your real gap is content that AI engines would want to quote. Start with one $69 code, score a few of your older posts, and see whether the fix lists are useful before you stack any more.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use ClickRank and SEOBetter together?

The listings suggest they don't clash. ClickRank is built to work alongside Yoast and Rank Math, and SEOBetter syncs into them too. Neither listing covers running the two together, so test that during the 60-day refund window.

Which one works if my site isn't on WordPress?

ClickRank. It offers a JavaScript snippet for any non-WordPress CMS. SEOBetter says Webflow, Wix and Shopify aren't supported yet, and the listing gives no date for that changing.

Is the cheapest tier enough for either tool?

Probably only for a small site. The cheapest ClickRank tier appears to cap crawls at 500 pages. SEOBetter appears to allow 2 cloud articles a month at the low end. Both tier rows are unlabeled, so confirm at checkout.
