SEOBetter Review: A WordPress GEO Writer With Small Cloud Caps

SEOBetter writes cited WordPress articles and scores them for AI search. The $69 AppSumo deal is cheap, but the cloud article caps are small and WordPress is required.

Our take: Buy it if you run WordPress, want cited drafts scored for AI answer engines, and are happy to plug in your own AI key for volume. Skip it if you're on Webflow, Wix or Shopify, need many cloud-written articles a month, or only want meta tags and sitemaps.

What we like

  • One keyword in, a cited draft out, with outbound links checked before publishing
  • GEO score from 0 to 100 with a fix list, plus a tool for improving posts you've already published
  • Bring-your-own-key allowance on every tier, and unlimited team seats
  • Syncs meta and schema into Yoast, Rank Math, AIOSEO or SEOPress

Watch out for

  • Cloud article allowance is small, from 2 to 8 a month depending on tier
  • WordPress only, with Webflow, Wix and Shopify not supported yet
  • The tier table in the listing reads backwards and the product's track record isn't stated

Say you run a small business site on WordPress. You publish a decent post every couple of weeks, it sits on page two, and now you’re hearing that people ask ChatGPT or Google’s AI Overviews instead of clicking through. You’ve got a free SEO plugin handling meta tags, but nothing that tells you whether your writing would ever get quoted by an AI answer engine.

SEOBetter product screen

That’s the gap SEOBetter is aimed at. It’s a WordPress-focused tool that researches a topic, writes a cited draft, scores it for AI citation and publishes it with schema. It’s on AppSumo as a lifetime deal from $69. We haven’t used it ourselves, so everything below comes from the listing, and the listing is marketing copy.

What you get for one keyword

The pitch is simple: type a keyword, get a publish-ready article. According to the listing, it starts with a live search results research brief that pulls authority sources and statistics, then writes the draft around them. There are 21 content types, including blog posts, how-tos, listicles, comparisons, buying guides and reviews.

The feature we like most on paper is the link check. The listing says every outbound link is verified, and dead or invented URLs are removed before publishing. Anyone who has seen an AI tool confidently cite a page that doesn’t exist will understand why that matters. It’s a promise we can’t confirm, but it’s the right problem to go after.

Local articles get a similar safeguard. Google Places verification is supposed to stop the tool from inventing businesses in a “best plumbers in town” style post. If you write local content, that’s worth a close look during the refund window.

Other extras include AI featured images in your brand colors, free Pexels images, 29 languages with research localized for 80+ countries, and 3 Brand Voice profiles on every tier.

The GEO score and the fix list

GEO means generative engine optimization: writing so AI answer engines cite you. The listing leans on a Princeton-led paper (KDD 2024) that found cited sources, statistics and quotations raised visibility in AI answers by up to about 40%. Treat that as the vendor’s chosen headline number. It’s a research finding, not a result you should expect on your own site.

Inside the plugin, every post gets a score from 0 to 100 with a fix list covering sources, statistics, quotes, structure and freshness. That’s useful because it turns a vague goal into a checklist.

The GEO Optimizer is the part that might matter most for small sites. It adds statistics, quotes and sources to posts you’ve already published, so you aren’t forced to start from scratch. If you have 40 older posts, that’s a more realistic use than generating new ones.

There’s also an AI crawler audit with a one-click robots.txt fix, plus llms.txt support. The listing is candid that no tool can guarantee a citation, and we’d treat any tool that claims otherwise as a red flag.

SEOBetter features at a glance

Living inside WordPress, or inside your AI assistant

SEOBetter runs as a WordPress plugin. It doesn’t replace Yoast, Rank Math, AIOSEO or SEOPress. It syncs its title, description and schema into whichever one you already use. Schema covers Article, FAQ, HowTo, LocalBusiness, Review and Breadcrumb, plus blocks.

There’s an MCP connection too, so you can run it from Claude, Cursor or Grok with the same checks as the on-screen version. The listing’s own FAQ on this was cut off, so we can’t say much more than that. If you already work from an AI assistant, it might suit you. If you don’t, ignore it.

After publishing, a Google Search Console dashboard shows per-post clicks, impressions and position, and freshness and decay alerts flag posts before they lose traffic. Internal linking is handled by an orphan report and an editor suggester. These are sensible extras, though the listing gives no detail on how deep any of them go.

The tiers, and the numbers that look backwards

The deal has four tiers, and you can stack up to 4 codes. Prices are $69, $138, $207 and $276. Every tier gets all 21 content types, 29 languages, unlimited team seats and future plan updates.

What changes is the monthly allowance. The listing gives cloud articles per month as 8, 5, 3 and 2, BYOK articles per month as 60, 45, 25 and 12, and sites as 5, 3, 2 and 1. Read in the order the tiers are listed, that means the $276 tier gets the fewest sites and articles. That looks backwards. The most likely explanation is that the feature rows are in reverse order, so the $69 tier is the smallest. The listing doesn’t label it, so check which plan gets what before you stack codes.

Either way, the cloud allowance is small. Even at the top, 8 cloud articles a month is a modest number, and at the low end it’s 2. BYOK is where the volume is, with up to 60 a month, but you’re paying your own AI provider for those. The listing doesn’t estimate that cost, so you can’t yet work out what an article really costs you.

For comparison, the listing says SEOBetter Pro is $39 a month or $349 a year, and one $69 code is less than two months of Pro. That’s a fair comparison. You must redeem codes within 60 days, and AppSumo’s 60-day refund window gives you a safety net.

Who should skip it

Skip it if your site isn’t on WordPress. The listing says Webflow, Wix and Shopify aren’t supported yet. “Yet” is a promise, not a roadmap, and we’d never buy a lifetime deal for a feature that doesn’t exist.

Skip it if you only need meta tags and sitemaps. A free SEO plugin already does that, and the listing says as much.

Be cautious if you want lots of articles produced on the vendor’s tab. Two to eight cloud articles a month isn’t a content engine. Also note what the listing doesn’t tell us: how long the product has been around, how many people use it, or any independent reviews. The FAQs are written by the vendor, who says so. That’s honest of them, but it means we have no outside voice to lean on.

It’s also worth being realistic about the Surfer SEO comparison. The listing says SEOBetter replaces a content tool like Surfer, but it works from research and writing rather than editing toward a keyword. Those are different workflows, and you should decide which one you prefer.

SEOBetter price and limits

If you’re on WordPress and your older posts need sources and statistics, buy one code, run the score on a few posts, and use the refund window to decide. Stack more codes only after you’ve seen the allowances in your own account.

Frequently asked questions

Does SEOBetter replace Yoast or Rank Math?

No. According to the listing, you keep your SEO plugin for meta and sitemaps. SEOBetter handles the content and syncs its title, description and schema into Yoast, Rank Math, AIOSEO or SEOPress.

Can I get unlimited articles on the lifetime deal?

No. Each tier has a monthly cap on cloud articles (2 to 8) and a separate cap on bring-your-own-key articles (12 to 60). With your own key, you also pay your AI provider directly, and the listing doesn't say what that costs.

Will it get my site cited by ChatGPT or Google AI Overviews?

The listing itself says no tool can guarantee a citation. SEOBetter aims to add the factors the GEO research rewards, such as sources, statistics and quotes, but the outcome isn't promised.
