Our take: Buy it if you run an agency or freelance practice and want to resell a branded helpdesk to several clients without paying per seat. Skip it if you need WhatsApp, SMS, a native Shopify app or SMTP/IMAP connections, or if you just want one helpdesk for your own business. AI costs extra and the listing doesn't state the price.

What we like

  • Unlimited client workspaces, agents, conversations and chat history
  • White label across dashboard, email, chat, help center and MCP sign-in
  • Each client workspace gets its own app domain and branding
  • REST API, webhooks and MCP access are included in the deal

Watch out for

  • No WhatsApp, SMS, social inboxes, native Shopify app or direct SMTP/IMAP
  • AI replies are a paid add-on and the listing gives no prices
  • One custom app domain per workspace, and the iOS app keeps Sonny branding

Picture a small web agency with three clients who all keep asking the same thing: who is answering our customers’ emails? You could set up a shared Gmail inbox and hope for the best. Or you could hand each client a proper helpdesk with your logo on it. Most helpdesk tools make the second option awkward, because they charge by the agent and put their own name everywhere. Sonny is aimed squarely at that problem, and it’s on AppSumo as a lifetime deal.

Sonny: White-Label Helpdesk product screen

A note on how we got here. We haven’t used Sonny ourselves, and there’s no demo video to go on. Everything below comes from the AppSumo listing, so treat it as a careful read of the claims and the gaps, not a hands-on verdict.

What you’re buying: a helpdesk you resell

Sonny is built around client workspaces. Each one has its own inbox, contacts, channels, team and settings. You run them all from a single agency account and switch between clients without juggling logins.

The support side covers live chat, email and a help center. Chat and email land in the same inbox inside each workspace. You can invite a client’s people as admins, agents or viewers, and the listing says they have no access to your other clients.

That separation matters. It’s the first thing an agency worries about with a shared tool, and here it’s the core design, not a bolt-on.

White label that goes past a logo swap

Plenty of tools say white label and mean you can upload an image. The listing describes something broader: your name, logo, icon and colors across the dashboard, sign-in and navigation, plus invitations, notification emails, live chat, the help center and even the MCP sign-in screen. Sonny branding is removed once white label is switched on.

You set the brand per workspace. Use your agency’s identity everywhere, or match each client’s own. Clients can also install a branded web app (a PWA) on phones and desktops, with the name and icon you pick.

Mobile has a catch. The Sonny iOS App Store app keeps its publisher branding, so nobody gets a branded App Store listing. The installable web app is the workaround, and for most small clients it will do.

Setup takes some effort. You need DNS access to verify an app domain, plus email verification records for a sending identity. If a client’s DNS is managed by an IT contractor or a registrar they’ve forgotten the password to, expect a few rounds of emails. Each workspace gets one custom app domain, something like support.client.com.

The channel gaps are the real limit

The listing is refreshingly plain about what’s missing. Native WhatsApp, SMS and social inboxes aren’t included. There’s no native Shopify app. Direct SMTP and IMAP connections aren’t included either.

In practice, you forward incoming mail from whatever provider the client uses, then verify a sending domain so replies go out under the right brand. The chat widget goes onto Shopify, WordPress, Webflow or any other site as a script snippet. Gmail, Outlook, Shopify and WordPress appear in the integrations list, but read that as “works through forwarding and a snippet.” It isn’t deep integration.

So a client who sells through Instagram DMs or answers customers on WhatsApp is a poor fit. We’d rule Sonny out for those accounts straight away and keep it for clients whose support lives in email and on a website.

Sonny: White-Label Helpdesk features at a glance

Reporting, API and the AI add-on

For service quality, the listing mentions conversation volume and response times by workspace and channel, plus branded CSAT surveys. Teams get assignments, internal notes, @mentions and saved replies, and the dashboard comes in 13 languages. How detailed the reports are isn’t described, so assume basic until you see them.

Developers get a REST API and webhooks for conversations, contacts and support activity. There’s also a branded MCP endpoint, which lets clients connect Claude, ChatGPT or their own agents. That’s a nice extra for a technical agency. Most small clients won’t ask for it.

AI replies sit outside the deal. You can add AI reply drafts and automatic answers trained on a client’s website, documentation and FAQs, bought per workspace as a managed plan or as a bring-your-own-key add-on. With BYOK, the provider’s usage is billed to your key.

The listing gives no price for either option. If you plan to sell AI answers across many clients, that missing number matters more than the $149. Find it out before it goes into a client package.

The $149 deal and its conditions

There’s one tier, $149, down from a stated list price of $720. It includes unlimited client workspaces, agents and team members, unlimited conversations and chat history, and all future plan updates. Unlimited seats are the real saving for an agency, since per-agent pricing is what makes tools like Freshdesk and Zendesk expensive as your client list grows.

The conditions are simple. The deal isn’t stackable, so extra codes won’t raise any limits. You must redeem within 60 days of purchase. AppSumo also lists a 60-day money-back guarantee, which is long enough to run a real client domain and email setup and see whether it holds up.

Sonny hosts the platform, but you bill your clients yourself in your own tools. There’s no built-in billing or reselling system, so your pricing and margin are yours to work out.

The review evidence is thin. Six AppSumo reviews average 5.0, and AppSumo’s own summary admits some buyers see the product as still evolving. That reads like a young product with an attentive team. It’s encouraging for support, but a lifetime deal only pays off if the company is still around in a few years.

Who should pass

Skip it if you only need a helpdesk for your own business. The value is in the multi-client structure, and you’d be paying for features you’ll never touch.

Skip it if your clients rely on WhatsApp, SMS or social inboxes, or need a native Shopify integration. Skip it too if AI answers are the main reason you’re shopping and you can’t yet see what they cost.

Sonny: White-Label Helpdesk price and limits

If you’re a consultant or agency with a handful of clients who mostly use email and a website chat widget, this is an easy deal to take seriously. Set up one real client inside the refund window, check that domain and email verification go smoothly, and decide from there.

Frequently asked questions

Is the white label complete on the AppSumo deal?

According to the listing, yes. The dashboard, sign-in, invitations, notification emails, live chat, help center and MCP sign-in can carry your brand, and no AI add-on is needed. The exception is the Sonny iOS App Store app, which keeps Sonny's branding. Clients can install the branded web app instead.

Does the deal include AI replies?

No. AI is sold per workspace, either as a managed plan or as a bring-your-own-key add-on. With your own key, the provider's usage charges go to you. The listing doesn't state prices for the managed plan or the BYOK add-on, so find that out before you promise AI answers to a client.

Which channels can I run for clients?

Live chat and email share one inbox per workspace, alongside a searchable help center. Native WhatsApp, SMS and social inboxes aren't included. Email works by forwarding from your provider rather than SMTP or IMAP, and there's no native Shopify app, only a chat widget snippet.
