You’ve got a launch coming and a shortlist of creators who might fit. What happens next is where these two tools split. One hands you the list with emails attached. The other wants to run the whole booking, from brief to payout.

Creator Lookup and Jem Social side by side

Both are lifetime deals on AppSumo, and both name Modash and Upfluence as the tools they replace. Creator Lookup costs $59, $119 or $229. Jem Social costs $49, $109 or $209. Price won’t settle this one. What each tool does after you find a creator will.

Finding creators

Creator Lookup is the stronger search tool on paper. It lists 400M+ profiles across Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, and you can type a request like tech reviewers in the US. From there you can narrow by followers, location, language and gender, match on bio keywords, caption keywords and hashtags, and filter by average views, engagement rate and audience age or location. You can also paste your website URL for suggestions, look up a creator by username, or use a lookalike filter.

Jem Social lists 250M+ creators and filters by niche, city, platform and engagement rate, with audience and rate filters and URL-based matching. It adds an AI Influencer Assistant for plain-language searches and an AI Brief Generator that drafts a campaign brief and outreach summary.

There’s a catch on the Jem side. Every tier gets 50 finder credits and 10 AI searches a month, and the listing never defines a finder credit. Ten AI searches disappear fast if you’re experimenting with briefs.

Neither listing shows sample results, and we haven’t tested either tool. So we can’t say whose matches are better. We can say Creator Lookup describes a deeper filter set.

Getting in touch with creators

This is where Creator Lookup earns its price. Every export is meant to include a verified email, and the vendor says contacts are updated weekly and backed by a delivery guarantee. Phone numbers come when available. You can download a CSV or send lists to Mailchimp and Klaviyo, and the vendor’s FAQ mentions Smartlead and Instantly too.

The guarantee is vague. The listing doesn’t say what it covers or how you’d claim on it. If your last outreach round bounced half its messages, read the terms before you pay.

Jem Social takes a different route. You post an opportunity with deliverables, budget and timeline, and creators apply. That saves you cold outreach, which is a sensible idea on a small budget. But the listing doesn’t say how big the active creator pool is, as opposed to the scraped database. If few creators are actually on the marketplace, your posting could sit unanswered.

Contracts, escrow and getting paid

Here Jem Social has no real competition inside this pair. You chat with creators, negotiate a custom offer and lock in deliverables. Full contracts are included on every tier, tax forms are handled in the platform, and your budget sits in escrow until you approve the work. Reminders and approval requests go out automatically.

For a small shop, that beats sending money to a stranger’s PayPal and hoping. The unknown is cost. The listing says nothing about escrow fees, payout fees or processing charges, and it doesn’t say which countries the tax forms cover. Ask the seller before you commit.

Creator Lookup lists nothing here. You find the person and get their email. The agreement and the payment are your problem.

Tiers and limits

Creator Lookup sells credits, and one credit is one creator with an email:

  • Tier 1, $59: 100 credits a month, no launch bonus, no MCP access.
  • Tier 2, $119: 300 credits a month, 1,500 launch bonus credits, MCP included.
  • Tier 3, $229: 800 credits a month, 3,500 launch bonus credits, MCP included.

Tier 1 is thin, and tier 2 is where most buyers should start. The listing doesn’t say whether unused credits roll over or how long the bonus lasts.

Jem Social sells monthly creator bookings instead:

  • Tier 1, $49: 20 bookings a month.
  • Tier 2, $109: 150 bookings a month.
  • Tier 3, $209: 50 bookings a month.

That last line looks like a typo, since the priciest tier shouldn’t allow fewer bookings than the middle one. Don’t buy tier 3 until someone confirms the number. Everything else is identical across Jem’s tiers, so tier 1 is the sensible start for a small brand.

The two units aren’t comparable. A Creator Lookup credit buys contact data. A Jem booking covers a whole working relationship with a creator.

Both deals require activation within 60 days and allow downgrades only within 60 days of purchase. Creator Lookup is for brand-new users only, and says access to future AI models may be discounted or need an add-on. Its deal ends December 7, 2026. The Jem Social data we have shows no end date.

Track record and evidence

Creator Lookup has 4.81 out of 5 across 26 AppSumo reviews. AppSumo’s summary mentions minor issues with server performance and credit limits, and a 60-day money-back guarantee. The founder video is a pitch rather than a walkthrough, so it tells you who built the tool more than how it works.

Jem Social has 3.25 out of 5 from four reviews and no demo video. Four reviews is too few to judge, but it isn’t a flattering start. The listing also mentions a Shopify integration in its FAQ while the integrations list shows only Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok. If you sell on Shopify, ask which is right. The data we have doesn’t mention a refund policy, so check before buying.

On evidence alone, Creator Lookup looks like the safer bet.

Which one to buy

Pick Creator Lookup if you already know how to run a creator campaign and you’re short on contact details. It suits someone who sends outreach in batches, handles agreements by email, and wants verified addresses without opening a hundred bio pages. Start at tier 2. Skip it if you want contracts, payments or deep campaign management in the same place.

Pick Jem Social if the awkward part of your process is the money and the paperwork. A small brand booking a few UGC creators a month gets contracts, escrow and a booking dashboard for $49 at tier 1. Skip it if you need serious audience analysis or plan to run big campaigns, because the search caps and the young product will frustrate you.

Who should pick Creator Lookup or Jem Social

If you’re still torn, think about which mistake costs you more. A bad email list wastes a week of outreach. A bad payment arrangement can cost you real money and a creator relationship. Whichever you pick, use the activation window to run one real search or one real booking before you trust it with a campaign.

Frequently asked questions

Which one is better for a small business that only books a few creators a year?

It depends on the bottleneck. If finding emails is the slow part, Creator Lookup tier 2 gives you a real first-month batch. If chasing contracts and payments is the pain, Jem Social tier 1 covers that for $49. The listings don't show either tool in use, so lean on the refund and activation windows.

Does Creator Lookup handle contracts or payments to creators?

The listing doesn't mention contracts, escrow or payouts. It is a search, vetting and export tool, so you'd handle agreements and payments somewhere else.

Is the Jem Social tier 3 deal worth buying?

Not until the booking figure is confirmed. The listing shows 20 bookings on tier 1, 150 on tier 2 and 50 on tier 3, which looks like an error. Every other feature is the same across the three tiers, so tier 1 is the safer start.
