Consently Review: Cheap Cookie Consent, Odd Tier Math
Consently is a cookie consent tool with scanning, policy templates and Google CMP status, sold on AppSumo from $39. Here's what the listing covers and where it's thin.
METODIC turns a one-line brief into a timed workshop agenda, worksheets, card deck and facilitator guide. Here's what the $49 to $229 lifetime tiers actually include.

Our take: Worth a look for consultants, agencies and founders who run workshops often and want prep time cut down. Skip it if you run a session or two a year, or if you need heavy AI image generation, since credits are tight on the lower tiers.
Picture the night before a client workshop. You’ve got 12 people, 90 minutes, and a blank document. You know roughly what the session should achieve, but you don’t have a timed run of show, the handouts aren’t printed, and the facilitator notes exist only in your head. That’s the gap METODIC is built for.

It’s a workshop design tool. You describe the session in a line or two, covering who’s in the room, the goal and how long you have. The AI then drafts a timed agenda, worksheets, a card deck and a facilitator guide. AppSumo files it under course and community builders, but that’s a loose fit. This is for people who run live sessions, not people who sell courses.
The output is the selling point, so here’s the list from the listing:
You can export to PDF, Word or Miro. One feature section also mentions PowerPoint, though the FAQ only lists Miro, PDF and Word. Check that before you buy if slides are your main need.
The listing claims 75% faster prep than building from scratch, and says a session is ready in 10 minutes rather than 4 hours. Those are marketing numbers and the listing gives no method behind them. Treat them as a direction, not a promise.
You start in a chat. Tell it you’re designing a 90-minute offsite for 12 people, and it returns a full run of show. The facilitator guide is drafted alongside, so it’s there before you finish the conversation.
Then there’s live mode. A step-by-step timer shows what’s happening now and what’s next, which is handy if you facilitate alone and keep losing track of the clock. Participants join without an account, and you can share any session as a view-only link.
There’s also an MCP mentioned in the FAQ, positioned as a way to use METODIC alongside a general chat assistant. The listing doesn’t explain how that works in practice, so we can’t say how useful it is.

This is where the deal gets real. Each tier gets a monthly AI credit allowance, and a full session plan costs about 2 credits. Worksheets, handouts and documents cost 0.5 credit each.
So a session isn’t always 2 credits. If you generate the plan and then six worksheets, you’re at about 5. On Tier 1’s 25 credits, that’s closer to five or six fully stocked sessions a month than the 12 the listing quotes. That’s our arithmetic, not a figure from the listing, but it follows directly from the stated costs.
There’s a useful escape hatch. Connect your own API key from Anthropic, Google or OpenAI, and AI text generation stops using credits. The listing says models are fixed per provider so quality stays consistent, which means you can’t pick a specific model. Image generation and exports still cost credits either way, and the listing doesn’t say how many.
All three tiers include lifetime access, future updates to the Business plan, and the ability to switch between tiers. You have to activate your license within 60 days.
| Tier | Price | AI credits/month | Session leaders |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | $49 (was $420) | 25 | 3 (you + 2) |
| 2 | $129 (was $1,050) | 75 | 6 (you + 5) |
| 3 | $229 (was $2,090) | 175 | 15 (you + 14) |
A session leader is anyone who can build and edit sessions. Everyone who only views, like clients and participants, is free and unlimited. That’s a sensible way to split seats, since most of your audience never needs to edit anything.
For a solo consultant, Tier 1 is the obvious test. For a small agency where several people design sessions, the three-seat cap will bite quickly, and Tier 2 is the more realistic starting point. By the same math, Tier 2’s 75 credits is about 37 plan-only sessions and Tier 3’s 175 is about 87. Tier 3 only makes sense if a bigger team is building sessions every week.
The listing contradicts itself on method counts. One section promises 800+ curated methods, while the FAQ says sessions are designed with 186 validated frameworks. They may measure different things, such as individual activities versus whole frameworks, but the listing doesn’t explain. Ask the team before you assume a number.
It also doesn’t say what the regular Business plan costs beyond the $420 list price on Tier 1, and it doesn’t show sample output. With three AppSumo reviews, all five stars, there isn’t enough feedback yet to judge how good the generated agendas are. A tool like this lives or dies on whether the drafts need light editing or a full rewrite, and nobody has told us.
The FAQ’s comparison with asking a general chatbot for a workshop plan is fair as far as it goes. A chat gives you ideas, and this gives you formatted materials. But if you’re comfortable assembling your own worksheets, the extra value is mostly formatting and time saved.
Buy if you facilitate regularly and you’re tired of rebuilding the same kind of pack from scratch. Consultants, coaches and small agencies fit best, especially if you hand out printed materials. The 60-day refund window means you can run one real session through it and decide.

Skip if you run a workshop a couple of times a year, since a one-off prompt to a general chatbot will cost you nothing. Skip Tier 1 if more than three people on your team need to build sessions, or if you expect to generate lots of images. And if you need a mature product with a long record, wait. This one is young, and the evidence for its quality is still thin.
Tier 1 includes 25 AI credits a month. The listing says a full session plan costs about 2 credits, so that's roughly 12 sessions. Worksheets, handouts and documents cost 0.5 credit each, so a fully stocked session will use more.
Only partly. According to the listing, connecting your own key (Anthropic, Google or OpenAI) means AI text generation no longer draws credits. Image generation and exports still use them.
No. The listing says participants join live sessions and view shared plans without an account. Viewers are unlimited on every tier. Only team members who build and edit sessions count as session leaders.
